These are the questions I constructed for my interview with local band: Callum McMorran

1. How did you all come together?




2. So what made you all interested in the music industry?

This interview I conducted with Callum McMorran will be rewritten into an article, portraying how unsigned artists can still be divas.

How did you all come together?

C: Erm yeah basically yeah I had a band before, uni and then we spilt up because they went different ways and stuff then when I got to uni I started writing more acoustics’ and stuff and songs and things like that then erm got in touch with Dom who’s on my course and asked him to play the bass for us and mike erm messaged me through MySpace looking to drum for some local bands and ehh so he came along and yeah we sorta got together, and the keyboard player Dom he was like, we added him later cos err to fill out the sound a bit more (he’s on our course)

So what made you all interested in the music industry?

C: its erm well I love music like I love playing music, I’ve always played music pretty much. Well no, actually Dom was a runner

D: Yeah

C: Dom was a sportsman then he got injured

D: So I had to do music

C: I love writing music and playing songs so I suppose that’s why

M: The correct answer is money and girls (They all laugh) C: Yeah (laughing) that’s it Where do you get the inspiration to write your songs from?

C: Eerr inspiration comes from a lot of things, Dom's pointing at himself, no erm inspiration comes from say things that happen like say something that really winds you up or erm something that happens really any sort of life experiences

What are your ambitions… to get signed?

C: Erm I think yeah that’d be nice, abit of money behind us would be nice but erm at the moment like, were kind of quite happy as it is, but yeah it would be good if it took off a bit

If you could collaborate with any artist who would it be and why?

C: Erm collaborate ooh erm Damien Rice, apparently I talk about Damien Rice in my sleep so hahaha yeah Damien Rice brilliant artist who I’d love to do a song with him

How would you describe your style of music?


C: Erm I’d say erm solo artist, rocky, more sort of upbeat rocky for a solo artist more like type of genre of I’d say just sort of indie rock

Did you support Bens Brother?

C: Yeah we did yeah


What was that like?

C: Erm that was erm that was a good gig kind of strange like because I’d like actually heard them on the radio 1 before no radio 2 and erm I was listening to them on radio 2 and to actually meet them and to play the gig that was pretty weird really like hearing some hyped band and getting to meet them and support them that was really good
